How do visual images tell stories? Join Associate Professors Nicholas Sawicki and Michael Kramp as they explore storytelling in printmaking and photography, and how visual images can create a window of opportunity to witness and experience moments in time. How evident the narrative of an image is, depends not only on how carefully the viewer observes it, but also on their historical and social position. The closer they are to the subject the more they feel they know, while distance often makes things seem less clear.

ART IN DIALOGUE is a series of interdisciplinary conversations between members of the AAD faculty and colleagues from both the university and the wider community - reflecting the ways in which their work is dynamically engaged with other fields of inquiry.
