ART IN DIALOGUE: Artist Talk & Family Workshop: Deirdre Murphy

April 18, 2020 10:00AM to 11:00AM
Prismatic Vision, Deirdre Murphy, Oil on Canvas, 2014

Join artist Deirdre Murphy as she discusses her artwork and teaches us how to create our own colorful migration patterns and a step-by-step drawing of a Mountain Hawk with a special guest from Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.

Deirdre Murphy’s artwork is made with the attentiveness of a scientist, observing the natural world beyond the visible surface. Her paintings explore the interconnected qualities of art and science, paying particular attention to the micro and macro patterns that reveal our connectedness. Deirdre's work is currently exhibited as part of the Art, Architecture and Design Faculty Exhibition on view at the Lehigh University Art Galleries.

ART IN DIALOGUE is a series of interdisciplinary conversations between members of the AAD faculty and colleagues from both the university and the wider community - reflecting the ways in which their work is dynamically engaged with other fields of inquiry.

All ART IN DIALOGUE programs will be hosted on Zoom. All events are free and open to the public. Please be aware that there has been a nationwide increase in disruptions to virtual events. Some of these disruptive incidents could include offensive language or imagery. If this occurs, the meeting host may need to end the meeting and reschedule. Thank you for your patience as we work through these challenges.
