POSTPONED: LVAC Audio Description for the Visual Arts

January 29, 2022 1:00PM to 5:00PM
LUAG Main Gallery

This event has been postponed and will be rescheduled. Date TBD.

Join Lehigh Valley Arts Council, LUAG, and Audio Describer, Nicole Sardella, for a beginner workshop on Audio Description for the Visual Arts! Audio Description (AD) assists patrons who are blind/low-vision to access the visual elements of museum exhibits and stage productions through narration provided by trained describers. Learn the basics of audio description, how artists and arts organizations can utilize AD in their work, and practice your skills with volunteers from our local Sights for Hope office!

Nicole Sardella, an audio describer located in Philadelphia, will train participants in the basics of visual art audio description. The training will take place in person at the LUAG Main Galleries at Zoellner Arts Center. Workshop attendees are given the opportunity to practice what they have learned by guiding guest patrons from the Sights for Hope through the gallery space.
