Connect & Create: Artist Trading Card Collages with Artist, Susan Morelock

March 18, 2025 5:30PM to 7:00PM
LUAG Main & Lower Galleries

Discover the joy of creating in this hands-on workshop, led by teaching artist Susan Morelcok and inspired by the interdisciplinary works on view in our exhibitions and collection. This session will focus on the unique and versatile practice of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) through the art of collage.

Participants will begin by exploring the museum’s exhibitions and collection, drawing inspiration from the displayed works and the practice of Field Notes—capturing the world around us through drawings, notes, and observations. Using a variety of provided collage materials, participants will craft their own creative response to the themes and ideas present in the art.

From their initial collages, participants will use a template to generate a set of Artist Trading Cards. These 2.5” x 3.5” mini artworks, the same size as standard playing cards, are perfect for trading, gifting, and sharing. Each participant will leave the workshop with a personal collection of ATCs, including pieces made by their fellow participants.

This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to explore your creativity, connect with others, and engage with art in a new and meaningful way. All materials will be provided—just bring your curiosity and imagination!

Space is limited to 20 participants. Please register in advance to help us plan for your visit and ensure we have enough materials for everyone!
