Join student Museum Educator Avery Diaz '28 for a thought-provoking 60-minute gallery talk exploring the complex relationship between artistic creation and the surrounding environment. This session will explore the abstract and procedural aspects of art-making, examining how context—ranging from cultural influences to personal experiences—shapes an artist's identity and work.
After a brief presentation on the scientific stages of artistic development, guests will enjoy an interactive tour featuring a diverse selection of pieces from the LUAG permanent collection, encouraging participants to consider the interplay between objective expectation and individual interpretation and ultimately highlighting the linear and nonlinear processes that inform artistic practice.
