Oldrich Foucek, who goes by “Ollie” (pronounced O-Lee), is an active and dedicated volunteer on behalf of Lehigh University. He’s held numerous leadership positions in support of his alma mater, including: Class President, Chair of the Senior Class Gift Committee, Chair of the Annual Fund, Young Alumnus Trustee, President of the Alumni Association, University Trustee, Member of the Cultural Affairs Subcommittee of the Board of Trustees and Member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Arts and Sciences. For the past two decades, however, a particular focus of Ollie’s interest and activity has been Zoellner Arts Center, the heart of Lehigh’s visual and performing arts programming, where he continues to serve as Chair of the Friends of Zoellner.
Believing strongly in the importance of artistic expression to the maintenance of a free society and the benefit of exposing the broader community to various art forms, Ollie has also served on the Boards of Touchstone Theatre and Pennsylvania Stage Company.
Ollie was fortunate to have been exposed at an early age to free-thinking, avant-garde artists and writers who hailed from his grandparents’ Bohemian homeland and to have travelled extensively throughout Europe while his father worked in the airline industry, visiting many renowned museums and art galleries and coming to appreciate the historical connections between art and society.
A lawyer by trade and having earned his law degree at Case Western Reserve University, Ollie is an Equity member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., a regional law firm. He lives in Allentown, PA with his wife, Andrea, a retired school psychologist. Their two daughters, Alexis and Arielle, are also Lehigh alumni.
