LUAG Community Day: Batik Lotus Flower

February 18, 2023 1:00PM to 3:00PM
LUAG Main Gallery

Celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year observed throughout the Himalayas and all over the world, with an afternoon of family-friendly art making for all ages. You’ll learn about traditional Losar celebrations and this year’s zodiac animal, the Water Hare which symbolizes longevity, peace, and prosperity. Join us to celebrate the new year by decorating your own Water Hare and creating a batik-inspired lotus flower, a symbol of rebirth and growth.

LUAG Community Days offer opportunities to drop-in to the galleries to explore great works of art from the permanent collection and current exhibitions through conversation, hands-on projects, and sketching. Geared to children ages 4 to 94 and their adult companions.
