Teaching with the Collection: Creating Tactile Tools for Engaging with Art

What are tactiles? How can tactiles create new opportunities for learning and engagement for all audiences?
Join us for an interactive, hands-on workshop with educators from the Allentown Art Museum! This session delves into the role of tactile materials in museum and gallery settings.
Explore tactile materials, examples, and artworks during a guided tour. Then, unleash your creativity by designing your own tactile materials—whether inspired by existing ideas or something entirely new!
Participants will leave with online resources, a clear understanding of what tactiles are, how to create effective tactiles, and ways to implement them in their own educational practices, and a small tactile sample created during the workshop!
