In her quilts and embroidery designs, Anna Chupa captures a sense of place through the intersection of photography, fiber, art and architecture. A 2017-19 Lehigh University Faculty Innovation Grant supported her exploration of Catalan architectural ornaments for the purpose of assembling montages. She is joined by Associate Professor and Art Historian Nicholas Sawicki to discuss the influence of Catalan Culture in Modern Architecture and how these elements have influenced her personal exploration and creation.

Modern Architecture in Catalan Culture: Anna Chupa & Nicholas Sawicki is part of the ART IN DIALOGUE series.

ART IN DIALOGUE is a series of interdisciplinary conversations between members of the AAD faculty and colleagues from both the university and the wider community - reflecting the ways in which their work is dynamically engaged with other fields of inquiry.
