5x10: From Archive to Art: A Journey through Libraries and Museums

October 22, 2026 4:30PM
We will start at Special Collections in Linderman and walk to LUAG in Zoellner.

What can archives, libraries, and museums teach us about the past? How might they help us imagine the future?

Join Lehigh Libraries Special Collections and Lehigh University Art Galleries for a journey across campus exploring how libraries and museums preserve history, make knowledge accessible, and provide space for new ideas and creative responses.

We’ll begin in Linderman Library’s Bayer Galleria with Unfinished Chapter: The First 250 Years of American Liberty, exploring how historical documents and archival materials help us understand the stories that have shaped the United States. From there, we’ll visit LUAG’s This Land: Reimagining the United States of America on its 250th Anniversary, where artists respond to history, place, identity, and ideas about America through visual and creative forms. Along the way, we’ll consider how archives become more than records of the past: they can be starting points for storytelling, questioning, making, and imagining what comes next.
