Following the projects and work of Professor Deirdre Murphy's Fall 2023 course, Can Art Inspire Climate Change Action: First Year Seminar, this exhibition features a selection of work created by Lehigh University first-year seminar students. Students were charged with creating a selection of works that spoke to their feelings about the environment, mental health, and well-being related to the current climate crisis.

The feature piece in this exhibition, titled, Self Portraits for Change, is a collaborative quilt composed of students' self-portraits. Utilizing the monoprint gelli plate image transfer technique; students made prints of themselves. The entire class work is stitched together in a quilt-like fashion to show how we are all interconnected and supporting one another.

The exhibition also features a selection of mandalas from a class collage project, project descriptions and work samples, field notes and sketches from student sketchbooks, and photographs of class field trips by Christine Kreschollek.

View the exhibition in the LUAG Lab from January 23 - May 24, 2024. Located in the LUAG Main Galleries inside Zoellner Arts Center.
