Meet kinetic artist Kevin Reese, who will teach us how to create and balance our own Calder-inspired mobiles utilizing simple materials. We will gather inspiration from the works of Alexander Calder in the LUAG collection before designing and creating our own colorful shapes to set in motion in our mobiles.
Kevin Reese is an actor, designer, and visual artist with over thirty-five years of experience working with young people and communities as a performer and artist-in-residence. As a teaching artist, Kevin has been working with young people and teachers throughout the United States since the early 1980’s.
Workshop offered in partnership with the Zoellner Arts Center as part of a Spring 2021 school residency program where “Mobilizing our Community” directed by visual artist Kevin Reese, will work with 4th graders throughout the Lehigh Valley to create large permanent moving sculptures – mobiles-- for installation at their school.
LUAG Family Workshops offer in-person and virtual experiences to explore great works of art from the LUAG collection and current exhibitions through conversation, hands-on projects, and sketching. Geared to children ages 4 to 12 and their adult companions, however, all ages are welcome.
